Thing is every winter you see at least some falling snow in the North West.

Other areas don't see a flake for 5 years then BOOM they  get a foot with 4/5ft drifts.

Wondering which people would prefer?

I ask as my daughter is 11. She is used to seeing some snow every year. But moving to Llandudno her friends said they had NEVER seen snow when there was a fall in December. (they probably had when they were toddlers mind).

I think id prefer the usual yearly hope/dusting/letdowns and occasional decent fall than one mega 2 day event every 6/7 years.

Not the coast you don't

There's some areas which are so far East they should be classed as North Central instead of North West but then again when you live on the coast everybody is an Easterner

A direct Arctic northerly, sometimes Llandudno can get hit by a streamer in that set-up.

Front appears to finally be edging north round Wirral/Liverpool and slowly filling in as it does so.

I feel like it never used to be like that though. In the first decade of this century there was only one year that  there was no snow at all. This last decade, especially the last 5 years up until this year have been dreadful though, with 4 snowless years out of 8.

No snow here. Gusty winds. Thought it would have died down by now

Yep I remember in the 90's it being regularly snowy, nothing major but enough to be pleased about

It's the same with thunder storms though, we seemed to get more in the 80's and 90's than we do now

The 00's and 10's have been horrible for weather apart from 09 and 10 for the winter

At least when we do get storms they do tend to be pretty good. An SSE flow is the best for us. Last good one here was 19th May 2014. There were loads of thunder days in 2014 actually.

Think that's the last decent one we had, all the others recently have either been too far South going out into the sea or have fizzled out by the time they get over so you only get a crack of thunder

For someone who loves both snow and storms I really need to move to a better location
