One positive aspect of this cold-spell is that it at least keeps the beer chilled in the garage :) hearing the strength of the wind again outside this evening it's another night of staying put and following the news.

Nothing on the detectors. Strange that there would be any lightning about now.

It might not be lightning but rather power-lines or electrical transformers failing in the wind/ice.

I got the feeling this Summer gonna get very wet. :(

I think so too. Especially if we are entering a period similar to 2007-2012.

You never know though, it could surprise us.

Radar shows a line of showers heading through West Yorkshire towards East Lancashire.

They only look light but better than nothing and if they make it over should be snow.

That’s so true! I went out yesterday and had to look twice before I realised it was salt and not snow ???

This all reminds me of watching thunderstorms move up from the south only to shift or fizzle before they reach this area,  what is it about the lowlands of the NW that are so devoid of interesting weather ? ,  however if you love light rain , its great
