Wind has suddenly picked up here quite significantly. Hoping that might be a good sign of the more intense weather getting nearer! (Well you can’t blame me for a bit of straw clutching!!)

Manchester Airport similar, possibility of light snow for 19 hours.

Leeds Bradford too so there's a chance we might just get something

Still windy up here but not as wild as overnight and at least that fine crap blowing of the tops has stopped.

will the front heading up from the south reach here, somehow I doubt it and I think that we are entering a bland few days of cold nothingness.

The rain today radar is totally hopeless today. It has shown a weird little band of snow over Altrincham all day and that band is making it impossible to tell if the band from the south is creeping North or not. I'm guessing its stalled just south of us again. That and the rain shadow effect.

Im going to try to convince myself that i hate snow. That way I can think how lucky i am to keep just avoiding it :D

I wonder why Chorlton remains stubbornly snow free most of the time? Must be one of the worst places in Manchester for snow. The missus has a relative in Sale and they rarely get any as well.

It’s always either 30 or 40. I’ve always understood 30 to be possible and 40 to be probable.

Correct version below for future Reference Chris

The PROB40 Group is used when the occurrence of PPN Or Thunderstorms is in the 30% to less than 50% range thus thus the probability value 40 is appended to the PROB Contraction

This is following by a four digit group giving the beginning hour and ending hour of the time period during the Thunderstorm or PPN

NB PROB40 will never be shown during the first six hours of a forecast.

Will let you get your head around that whilst  you wait for your snow.

Ive only got frozen food, I cant see anything - my only chance is my mate's got a credit card here and he might put some money in but this did happen Friday the other week so I knew it was coming - they are useless here for not keepin power all the time.
