Luck of the Irish hey.

Very "festive" - the Irish sea looks like its been on Fire today.

I wouldn’t have thought December would provide as cold air? I remember an easterly right at the end of November once, and the temp struggled to get low, even though the sun was much weaker than now. Easterlies at this time of the year are perfect for cold air, but not good if sunshine is going to feature a lot. The opposite is true for December.

For an easterly to be really good, it needs that really cold pool to be there to tap into. I recall the late November 1993 easterly, that was cold because of the very cold pool of air was available to tap into. Early December 1995 had a cold easterly.

This easterly would not be that good if it wasn't for that very cold pool of air.

Is the radar "broke beyond belief' or  is that an inland streamer developing over the Fylde coast?

That was happening yesterday but there wasn't any report of snow, same with Altringham

That 'finger' of precipitation has been there all day. Radar glitch?

Actually, only last couple of hours but feels like all day. Sure it is a false return

Yes, it has popped up a few times this week, it was even a void during Wednesday night when that streamer was pushing through. I am just west of it near the northern tip.

I can't complain, i've not been able to go to work in 2 days and that's the first time in 25 years.

If this is the last of winter so be it, we've had worse.
