You couldn't make it up...I have watched it march north with no hesitation or disintegration and then it hits Crewe and the past few frames it disappears over us. Honestly, it's been the theme of this spell

It's a bag of crap mate and to be perfectly honest I really just want some warm spring sun now.

Fear not guys

That new snow baby being born between Denmark and Norway and the bit over Holland is going to merge with what's moving North and give us a mega snow event!

Looks like a nice bow tie on the UK's backside.

TBH as ive said before unless winds are NE/ENE or E im not really interested..

Practically every other direction is a waste of time for my location.

Its been a fabulous week watching heavy snow shower after heavy snow shower pile in.

In reality this storm or low to the South west had killed off the ideal wind direction for oldham..

My ONLY gripe is its happened in the dying embers of winter.. i would LOVE this setup in late Dec early Jan !

I will get you back in the summer hoping for that horrible mist and fog to descend from the hills while we all bask in the sun lol.

So true... in fact I'd go as far to say that due to seasonal positioning/coverage of the airmasses, had this happened in Jan, we wouldn't even be considering a warm up right now. We'd have lows barrelling around in sub 528 dam air. Pretty sure December 2009 saw something similar...briefest of 'warm' ups from the S (but still with snow) before being plunged back into cold once again after Christmas.

However, being March, it is what it is.

I wouldn’t have thought December would provide as cold air? I remember an easterly right at the end of November once, and the temp struggled to get low, even though the sun was much weaker than now. Easterlies at this time of the year are perfect for cold air, but not good if sunshine is going to feature a lot. The opposite is true for December.

To be honest a wet summer is what we need, torrential thunder storms from next week onward to the end of October and then a severe winter that puts anything ever seen before to shame.

I'm pretty sure next winter will be cold. I get the feeling we are pretty much mirroring winter 2008-2009 and we are about to mirror that period onwards from now on. We're pretty close in terms of the solar aspect too so it pretty much tallies.

This Easterly had been brutal, another face numbing wind chill out at work today.  Hope I get the chance to actually enjoy it at weekend, and wind drops down....but then I will seriously be ready for Spring.

That 'finger' of precipitation has been there all day. Radar glitch?

Actually, only last couple of hours but feels like all day. Sure it is a false return
