Ideally tes was thinking this too but not sure it will now.

anytime now for south of region light snow will fall

Looking at some of the pictures coming out of county kildare I think even the Irish would be glad of that happening. Must be laughing at the pitiful amounts of snow we've got.

I’m going down the beach to see what I can see. Maybe i’ll see some ice on the water like 2010.

SO have things changed with a posssibility of snow this evening? Noticed the band further south is filling in, and the sky is much greyer, although ice and snow is melting a bit with temps over 1c currently. The wind still hasn’t relented.

Think a bit of melting is helping to keep the temp down.

If that band can rejoin then it could be interesting that's for sure, a bit heavier than expected?

Did you see the TAF is predicting 18 hours of light snow. If it’s heavier then it could be game on.

Where can I see the latest temps? Plus when do they start to decrease normally in the day? As REALLY hoping it nudges below freezing in time for the precipitation.

About now they should start to  drop. melting should help as well.

The band definitely seems to be feeding a little bit off that lump in the Irish sea, whoever is under it on this side of the Irish sea might do okay, looks as though I'm too far north though.

Yes saw that, there is still a hell of a lot of energy in the band over the Irish Sea if it can join forces with that then it should help pep up what's coming over us. Would be a bloody nice surprise after such letdowns with snow this week.

Should be very accurate.  Pilots  rely on them. They only update every 6 hours though so not always have the latest take on the situation.
