Don't get how you aren't in the wind warning?

The wind isn't bad here on the coast though, it's more like a gusty breeze than anything severe, would probably be bad if it was coming in from the West though

It’s -0.2c here, almost gone positive. Must be to do with the winds and drier air.

The radar seems to go forward then into reverse. Really bad wind gusts here in skelmersdale but no snow

This freezing rain is preserving our snow cover nicely. Want more snow though let’s hope our uppers get colder as they get mixed out and it turns back

Bloody hell if they reckon that the worst of the winds have yet to arrive then it’s going to be a wild night.

A massive tree has come down in my dads garden so I’ve had to go and bring him back to mine as it’s rather close to his house.

Snow still coming down horizontally with strong wind gusts - net result being areas round one side of my house scoured clean of snow, with up to 8 inches of powder on the other side.

My stepson managed to get home on the last one that went from Buxton. took him nearly 4 hours

Yikes. I've seen video and pics of the snow-plough train (not sure what the official terminology of it is) arriving and departing Buxton station around 4pm and despite it clearing the line up to Hazel Grove 2 hours ahead of the 6pm train the track was covered-over again with drifting. Added to that a broken-down engine somewhere along the line and NationalRail just couldn't cope, the last I heard is there's supposed to be contingency buses to/from Stockport along the route but even those are being stopped before Buxton.

BBC4 Winterwatch 1963: The Big Freeze, is quite a good watch and so many reflections on what's happening around the country in the same area's this week in 2018.
