A couple of trees down in Bacup now, this wind really is nasty and warrants a warning in its own right.

I can confirm, I'm just over the hill in Todmorden, it is blowing a game, any other time there would be a warning for just the wind.

The 18z Hi Res models will be very interesting... as whether it's hopecasting or not, what is on the radar is not what was forecast from any model.  This is an exciting evening for sure.

Would you care to expand a bit please

Chris Fawkes (and other experts) are saying that none of the models have got Emma correct and that it is indeed more east than first progged (Met O have just updated warnings moving them more east too), all I am saying is that the 18z runs will have the latest data so hopefully might show a shift in the precipitation forecast.

That wind must be gusting at least 60mph at times. Worst it’s been today.

Is the strengthening wind because the centre of emma is further NE, squeezing the air over the top of it?

Highway in the Sky section was closed for much of the day as was the M66 down Rammy and the roads from Burnley to Rawtenstall and Bacup we’re both blocked by snow so let’s see if tomorrow brings an improvement.
