With gusts like this I'm struggling to tell where it's light snow or this powder snow blowing about in the wind.

Surely if everything's further east than forecast, we should have much chance of catching decent snow as it pivots towards Ireland? Seems as though that isn't the case so far?

Unkess it hits the cold block and stalls

A couple of trees down in Bacup now, this wind really is nasty and warrants a warning in its own right.

Yes I agree

WXCharts are saying the the HIRLAM has predicted Emma the best (But still very wrong) and luckily for us it's the best one of the bunch...

IF and a big IF it is further east and north then we can shunt this forecast N and E too.

There’s too much of a rain shadow happening so far. Radar looks really messy and doesn’t seem to be telling a true story.

If models can get the pressure wrong by 4 mbar than anything could happen.

See if we get past these lines in an hour or so, not confident it's going much further TBH.

Half of my garden has a dusting from this last night, and we've had very very light snowfall for hours which has amounted to nothing but nowt falling now.

The bit that would go over us is light.

The bit your asking whether we'd actually want - which is forecast for a bit further south - well some of us would anyway.

Yep like i said before ? but the main storm front is still further south where the green bulk is. Block wont allow it much north at minute. That over us now is front from this morning.

The 18z Hi Res models will be very interesting... as whether it's hopecasting or not, what is on the radar is not what was forecast from any model.  This is an exciting evening for sure.
