Around 30 minutes ago there was a big gap around Stoke / Crewe but its now filled in.

This does bode well, snow further North than on the warning area.

Perhaps that's where it comes from, a bloody big gap everytime snow is forecast.

Local NW BBC weather shows cloud and a few flurries. I think it was recorded as Louise Lear showed a different outcome.

If in doubt, look at the radar.

Wind is relentless, I don't know if it's just because it's from an usual direction, and the icy tundra out there, but it feels brutally strong and gusty.  It's only showing 30-40mph on xcweather though.

It's definitely expanding now through Chester and South Wirral.

Looks to be two bands pushing NW, One goes right over town (Mcr) and then another has a more southern trajectory, in Alty I may get lucky and get something from both, 5 miles in it for the second band

It's funny you say that as I was only thinking the other day "Why don't i seem to remember 2013"...and it's because it wasn't memorable here. I know I'm frustrated about the lack of snow but I know it's just because it's such rare synoptics (sub zero temps) that I really want to see a proper event. I have seen some amazing things but I don't want to wait another 20 years until I see it again!

Snap! That's the main reason I'm so frustrated, because these synoptics are a 1 in 20 year thing.

Can I politely ask that those who have access to and understand the reader can expand their posts to describe the area in which the snow is falling/projected to fall or its tragejory rather than just ‘over town/near us/this area etc .it would be helpful to the wider north west community
