The tragic thing is that you and Chris are the most optimistic posters in this thread and you get nothing. I wish you could get buried at least once

It has been snowing here non-stop all morning so far...and the radar looks like it will continue for another couple of hours at least!  Amazing drifts, snow overhanging the troughings, icicles...This is one of the best snow events for a long time (for me!)

Very frustrating for us folk in the south and west of the region light snow here but just swirling around in the breeze and not touching the ground I really hope the front tomorrow reaches here Carol on breakfast this morning said tomorrow the snow will be in a line from Liverpool bay to London.i am not looking for a amber warning and severe depths of snow a 5cm covering for me and the kids to play out in would be good.it really is gut wrenching when your six year old daughter can see all the scenes from across the country and region and says daddy why is it not snowing here,so difficult to explain to her.

Epic .. heavy drifting snow all morning..

And an epic fail from the meto...yellow warning? Your havin a laff.

Total understatement.

I'd love to know what the formula is that constitutes a red warning. Because its only yellow, people are being lured into stepping out into a very dangerous situation

I asked the Met Office about this and they told me I lived in an area of variable snow cover therefore a yellow warning was fine as it covered up to 15cm. Think I may have to break it to them I am well over that amount with four foot drifts

Is anyone around Manchester airport? I’m assuming all is ok there - I’ve got to head there for a meeting later.

Measured the snow now. It is now approaching 2cm.

Almost gained what we lost on Tuesday.

Probably bit more on the existing snow cover from Tuesday. Maybe 5cm?

I was near there earlier this morning.  The main roads were fine and flights seemed to be going in and out.
