Still snowing but not quite as heavy. A guy has been clearing the roads here with a snowplough on his Land Rover. He got into trouble with Cheshire East council though.

Health and Safety......

The good news is that with solar minimum approaching, potent cold spells like this one are increasingly likely for the next few years.

Same here, its the coastal shadow effect these days! Would never move here for weather reasons but more to life than just weather.

Even if it did properly snow, it would do what Backtrack is reporting, just blow around and no real accumulation as a result, the down side to dry snow.

I've never understood this solar minima/maxima thing.

Bet you're wishing you were back in the north east as well!

Not seen conditions like this on the Moss for years. More like the high Pennines than close to sea level, at times ground blizzards, stouring...

Very similar here - a right royal pasting.

I wouldn't worry. Most of us were forecast for clear blue sky this morning.

Well done all in the NW, you deserve your snow, love looking at the pics. Most places got there in the end, nice to have a nationwide snow event for a change where no one is left out.:D

The band of snow is now edging into southern parts of Lincolnshire although it appears to be weakening a bit.
