I though that happened more in Manchester, here we are normally ok being slightly further west.

Yeah, that's true. I guess it is complex. I'm unsure why they are not making all the way across like they were last night tbh. Unless the air is more stable further west perhaps.

I do?

Mate, they both live in a much better place than we do. I'm sure they would be as frustrated as we are if they lived here too.

Road closures, trams cancelled, first snow day for 25 years.

I feel for for those who are missing out tbh, this is ace.

I’m sure they weren’t and they are making their way straight across to the Macclesfield side as well.

Just had a look at the beeb weather on BBC Breakfast and they still have clear skies for the Peaks and Yorks for this time of the morning, not showing this new area of showers at all. Meanwhile looking out the window here there's still continuous moderate snow falling with fresh-drifting outside in 30+mph winds.

It's not the Pennines that is stopping these showers getting to us on the west coast... It's this insanely dry air. Any showers are simply evaporating.

Really think we should of had an amber warning for this...roads are terrible across blackburn.

Looking on AA Roadwatch the NW especially around Rochdale and the M62 - Snake Pass all closed Manchester looks gridlocked warrants an Amber at the very least and thats compared to Devon SWales and Lothian areas - still a snizzle blizzard here in Balderstone.

Im not sure whats happened here in Chorlton. It was snowing consistently last night till i went to bed at 12 and its snowing heavily this morning and yet there only seems to be about 1cm on the ground and none on the trees or bushes in the garden. Still its better than nothing and more than was for forecast so Im not complaining (well I'm complaining a bit but Im glad some of you have got epic snow!)

We have had very light snow all night into this morning and it made no impact on the dusting. It's now melting in spots.

Looking at the local transport around Buxton and the majority of high-level routes are still shut or impassible to anything but 4x4's, buses 199/TP are operating but not going anywhere near Buxton (on Police advice), with many DCC services simply being cancelled. The trains are still running to/from Manchester and Buxton but with unpredicted times due to the drivers heeding caution around Dove Holes where it's notorious for snow-drifts due to the line's altitude and exposed position.
