I know whats happening here. Jordan Steven, few weeks back we bad sort of lake effect dragging moisture from southport pier? Not sure if you remember, its happening again tonight sort of. The showers die off to reinvigorate again 20mins later. Look at radar now where it was dead before

Shower after shower here, topping up what’s already on the ground! Currently minus 6. Today has been one of the most wintry days I’ve seen in many years! First day of spring tomorrow....

Look at all that on he East coast. If we can pick up some stray showers from that overnight I’ll be happy.

What a day!  Had a "snow day" yesterday...despite the roads being OK.  One child's school closed, the other open.

Today, the road conditions were more tricky - but all schools and my place of work open.  Then the heavy showers started - much heavier than yesterday and covering better each time.  Both my kids' schools closed around 11am!

Then at 3pm-ish the most epic snowstorm/blizzard I've seen for many a year!  Total whiteout conditions!!  On my drive home the snow blowing off the fields made it feel like I was driving in thick fog!!

Oh, whatever next??!

Cruising to around 10cm of snow here with these persistent showers which have been almost none stop for a few hours. There is no way without a 4x4 suv you can drive in that so its touch and go whether to go work as I would have to walk and 45 mins to an hour and its already drifting.

Good Stuff.

The showers on the radar don't look great but when they come through they are surprisingly heavy so imagine the ones up in Scotland!

Radar shows the showers funneling through the Ribble Valley as the wind change direction to an Easterly.

To be fair, most of Norfolk saw 20cm already so the people in the gap are probably still happy ;)

I have just been out and it is perishing out there. It feels brutal. Got 2 pairs of socks on and feet are still like ice blocks.

Got a covering of snow too.
