Snowing...probably about 20 minutes of this and then I think smaller bits and pieces after that.  Should leave an icy, compacted and pretty treacherous journey out of the side roads to work tomorrow.

The smaller bits and pieces may well intensify as they come over the hills, like the present and previous shower.

I joined the original ‘snow watch’ forum on The bbc weather site back in the days when it was about 50 mouse clicks just to get to it -will it snow in Carlisle and SP or Stephen prudence as he was known then alongside BFTP, frosty and nick Sussex were all part of the original group although being from the north west SP was always the one I alluded to

Right on cue, the next band seems to be starting to intensify as it approaches the hills. This could be a memorable night!

Apps are showing no snow here so I don’t think those showers will make it over.

Had a very heavy snow shower..and the wind is beginning to drift the snow around... probably around 4cm and  the areas the sun melted well covered again...

Need these showers to merge if we are to breach the 10cm mark..

Had the best walk in the snow during that last shower. -3°C, heavy near white out conditions, huge flakes and perfect dry powdery snow! Wonderful
