Heavy snow shower now, could do with a few more of these.....im sensing tentative upgrades for the weekend with these fronts coming up from the south.

I’m sensing that too. My flight home from Spain to Liverpool is Sunday thought I’d missed all the fun. Fingers crossed it may extend a day or two. Some suggestion certainly it may prolong and Friday Saturday is starting to look interesting

Yes of course the sun speeds up melt rates, however across most of the north west temperature have reached above freezing today, so thawing in the shade also. The models proved quite accurate with this. Here are a selection of temperatures across the region (official stations, from weathercast), even Leek at over 300m almost reached above freezing. The coldest air is further east and south of our area.

Max 2.1 imby but mostly below 1. Very little thaw in the shade here.

Still seems to be heading for Yorkshire but even more noticeable is the recent development west of Denmark. This should affect the east coast tomorrow.

Friday's LP - some serious totals in Wales an the Midlands in the stalling rotation - just hoping we can tap into slow movement NE.

Interesting seeing that streamer affecting the far north of Germany, whoever has been under that will have got buried today, it's been relentless! us lot in Gtr Manchester need one from the Humber tomorrow!

It mentions heavy  snow showers for tomorrow and Thursday and Friday and possibility of something more Saturday. Hardly crap

As today ,tomorrow Thursday and Friday offers nothing here with a vague notion that a system will get this far without stalling ,I'll bet my car on  it not delivering anything here  ,and that's   Only 1 month old ,lol

Showers that have made it over the Pennines have been dying a death once they have got to lower ground though that shower north of Manchester would have my name on it if it got here.

thursday and Friday doesn’t look to exciting currently with only flurries forecast so far?
