Wow, this is amazing, it’s really heavy now. It’s accumulating so fast. Can’t believe we out did anything in the last 5 years with in the first half hour of it falling. Nearly an inch now on some surfaces. -1.8°C.

Snow falling and a covering already. Looks like one of those occasions where lowland parts in the west do better than the Pennines behind Manchester.

Doing just fine here ?

I presume after this band we have all of that precipitation (showery) following on from the northeast? If so it's going to be very snowy today.

How long you reckon we’ll have decent precipitation peeps?

There is another clump of precipitation moving down from the NE. I wonder whether this is the showers following on or still part of the trough.

The bulk of the amber warning zone looks like missing out on most of the snow at present. Just goes to show how tricky these things are to forecast.

O...M...F...G!! Just got another inch in 20 minutes when I cleared a patch. It’s so heavy, but everything is sticking. 2 inches now on most surfaces. Incredible consistency/Texture  to it.

This is going to really help the temperature stay suppressed and get low at night. We should retain this cover all week.
