I've picked out various snow charts from the latest available runs between 84 - 144 hrs. Hopefully this will settle the nerves, we should all see snow by Friday I'm pretty sure.

I know models can overdo snow, but theres a few chances there, surely even snow starved Preson and the rest of us west coasters would be unlucky to miss them all?

 

Yeah remember earlier when I said i wasnt going to obsess about snow...not going so well is it.

:cold:omg! Didn't realize it was going to feel THAT cold, sort of glad I'm not here. Will tell my mum to stay indoors

Hi Chris - sat at Preston Station atm  pondering next week's West Coast possibilities too! Thing is I work in London Mon/Tues so personally it'll be interesting! Expect the unexpected I reckon. I simply cannot believe we'll be snow free in a weeks time...

If we get an Easterly Gale like this then the whole region gets snow simple!

Anyway from Tuesday onward the fun should begin, like Karyo said things will pop up at very short notice this is an unbelievable looking Beast! We may just need to be a little more patient this side of the Pennines.

Is this cold weather going to hit the rest of Europe too. My 10yr old neice going skiing in Montgenevre france tomorrow for a week

Someonee posted in thr mod thread... temps on the moutian will be 20 below freezing.... hope she wraps up warm

I can see why the BBC text is so bullish about tues in particular- run through the animation - the trough hits our region beautifully..

have to hit long range on the video :)

I have fell sub zero in Scotland on top of Glencoe but haven't a clue how low it was it was biting. I know France is going to be affected by this but hoping not Spain as we don't have central heating, I keep my coat on like the Spanish do

I was out when it was -10 in 2010... The windchill must have been -11 but the wind was only a few mph. I will tell you my ears felt like they had pins being stuck in them... And head was extremely painful ..

I femember wearing neans and was so cold the stragly bits had frozen from sweat on thighs and cut my legs. ? was so cold the salt stopped working as de-icer

I've only got a -3C lowest. I doubt that'll be the case but no ice days either

seriously though, a strong easterly can cause havoc here even without it being a bitter cold one.

It somehow often gets very gusty as it crosses the ridge on the county boundary and i’ve had fence panels blown out by  easterlies in summer months when lower down the valley it’s been pretty calm.

looking forward in principle to what may be a once in a generation spell of weather but the reality when it arrives may prove to be serious and even if the snow isn’t heavy the feel will certainly be damned cold and probably even a shock to my system.

 Temperatures for tonight I mean. It predicts  -1 by 19:00 and -6 by midnight here. Currently 1.8°C so little bit of an ask. 

 Suppose it could be a bug as it only seems to be for my location.
