Now from some deep layer of the atmosphere some snow flakes have joined the party and seem to have Mixed the  inversion out as the ice pellets have gone. Now the snow and rain fight it out until the DP is positive, As the flakes get bigger.

Looks bitter out there.

Snow, hail, rain, ice pellet, dandruff mix in Chorley.

And now the day is one. The Atlantic WAA has vanquished all before it. The rain has won the battle. Goodbye for now snow, until next time.

Just like that as the last traces of snow disappear, the Met issue a  yellow snow warning! ??

Still dry here but won't be for much longer looking at the radar.  Very disappointed that this morning's glorious sunrise and icy start will now give way to a cold rain/sleet mix, but the band looks narrow so maybe not complete write-off.

Now the ice pellets have gain the upper hand for a time as evaporative cooling comes along to give them a hand but it is only a short reprieve.

Soon the wind will gust  and mix the air some more.

Have you considered commentary for a living? ??

Sprinkling on the grass it left. Major slush on the roads and paths. I think there must of been freezing rain mixed in. Easing off now. Just the odd big flake falling

Well well the ice pellets thought it was all over but they are hanging on for grim death. Are they about to salvage something in the last minute here? The DP has not yet blown the final whistle on this game

Oh what a thrilling end to this epic battle of wills. Rain...that masterful fox in the box...tried to score a last minute winner there but it was ruled offside. now Evaporative Cooling...that  wonderful shot stopper...that talisman who has come to the rescue on so many occasions has pulled off a brilliant instinctive save to  keep the fight even deep into injury time.

Oh...oh...what drama! Evaporative cooling with an expert long  ball down the field to snow. Snow boots the ball past inversion in the opposite goal to put Winter ahead. Snow and ice pellets dance in celebration as rain retreats into his own half in dismay.

I don’t believe it! With what might be the last kick of the game;Wind passes to Rain and Sun taps the ball into the net past Evaporative Cooling to even the game up again...oh but it’s too late. DP blows the final whistle with RH his assistant and Atlantic wins on away goals. They thought it was all over, it is now.

We got 1 minute of sleety snow in Romiley Stockport and then back to rain.

Snow falling for the 4th day in 5, and the 5th in 8.  Settling a little.  Did not expect this.  Lovely views of snow covered hills yesterday afternoon.
