Sorry to intrude in this thread by the way, not much happening in my own lol.

Had some wet snow earlier down here but temp up to 5.4c now.

Yeah, some of the other threads are like ghost towns, even when there is interesting weather around. This regional is usually fairly active at all times.

Met Office had the fiasco of last Friday morning of the non snow. Infact Met Office warnings have been poor recently overall.

Look at the Met Office latest warnings, they don't tally with those BBC computer graphics.

Warnings have been abysmal

Even if there is some back edge snow tomorrow, it will happen in the middle or the day or early afternoon so that's the worst possible time for settling.

The euro 4 is not interested anyway.

Keeping my eye on these showers over Wales. Looks like they could come my way. Screenshot_20180212-154235.thumb.jpg.c158b4e4d3c55cd6555a7da7ca749b86.jpg

Met text forecast calling for a period of rain snow and hail tomorrow morning. There are some interesting convective possibilities with this front including tornadoes/mesocyclones and hail. I think snow chances look pretty good  almost anywhere personally but let’s see. Let’s get those temperatures down as much as possible during the period of off-shore winds this evening.

Met also think Wednesday’s rain will be preceded by snow.

Except in the summer when it becomes the ”what are you having for tea next?” or “where are you going on holiday?” thread lol

Or the "which room of your house isn't underwater yet?" thread.

I think a nowcast situation might be the best option as its very marginal.

Much more amplified afternoon models - a colder outlook!

Yes , the much sought after Beast from the East is rearing it's head again , no doubt the model thread will be on fire and the SE will be in line for a pasting ,but even though it will bring cold winds/temps the Pennines get in the way of any snow here in the NW , the best option would be that fronts come in from the West and stall against the block
