Nice to wake up to a light covering of snow and then a couple of snow showers that came from the west this morning. Melting fast now though in the strengthening sun.

Warning updated for tomorrow says no to the Sausage.

With the SSW looking on dodgy ground my spring watch is now kicking into gear

Snow on and off all morning so far. 2inch on the ground I'd guess. Lovely

Drip drip drip here with snow rapidly melting. Will probably all be gone by late afternoon. Still, at least there won't be lots of annoying slush hanging around to become treacherous after several re-freezes. Warning for tomorrow looks great for our Cumbrian contingent. Good luck to them. Close but no cigar for these parts tomorrow I think though.

Once again woken up to nothing whilst the majority of everyone else in the region has decent snow. Has happened countless times over the years. Cumbria is a shocking place to live for snowfall, always seem to miss out an anything significant. Not hopeful, or for that matter remotely interested in tonight/tomorrow will no doubt either miss out again or it will rain. Feeling spring like out there right now. Well that's me done for this year guys, see you next winter!

Gone very dark here and that's because it's raining is it too much to ask just to keep the snow I have for more than 24 hours

I have to admit, I didn't think things would be warming up so quickly that people would be reporting rain showers already

Manchester Airport TAF going for chance of snow showers, heavy rain showers or snow between 11:00 and 18:00 tomorrow so maybe the GFS is onto something. Updated metoffice forecast will be interesting later.

I feel this year will pull some more transient snow events , but the likleyhood of an SSW event or deep cold is receding fast .

Well, the SSW is happening as we speak. I think it will take time to see any proper cold synoptics developing, more likely towards March and sadly then the sun will be our enemy. But I love a cold wintry March so I am ok with that. :-)

Sorry karyo I meant in relation to impending spring which has a habit of watering it down as it takes 10 to 20 days  SSW events to filter through to real feel weather ,lol
