Can't fathom shower development mechanism at times. Look how showers have sprung up now, some big cumulonimbus development now I can see.

Couldn't make it up ..... We always get copious amounts of rain in almost every sw/w/nw flow ...... But when it's cold and there's a chance of some snow we've had 3 showers all day ....... Ho hum

Decent hail shower in progress. First proper shower since late morning. Can this event be saved in these parts this afternoon? Certainly an upward trend in shower development to West and North.....

Had a beefcake of a soft hailstorm earlier. Half an hour under a streamer, everywhere was covered white, looked amazing. Had snow and hail showers all day. Not a hint of any rain. Showers forecast to get heavier, more frequent and even wintrier tonight- cannot wait! Freezing out there, about 2C.

What we need is either some streamers or a merging of the showers later, forming a small band.

Euro4 looking better for these parts this evening. Presumably this is due to a shift in wind direction to WNW
