Netweather precip type query

Hello - can you tell me how the precip type colours - red green and blue are generated on the radar. Early on today it was snowing quite heavily in Wolverhampton and the ground was getting covered with snow but the netweathe radar was showing precip type as rain snow mix green colour rather than red for snow

It's both using atmospheric data from our model, plus some ground truthing. In terms of the colours, green can cover snow, it may sound like a cop out, but in borderline situations such as today, the margin between rain, sleet and snow is tiny, so the green covers that margin for error.
