I read Steve's post (SE forum) and he did say this would be East Anglia,

And Meteorologist Ian F, says "latent risks are quite evident (and not just for that area) "

Hoooooraaahhhh

OMG!!! Amazing!!!!!!!!

Having lived in Kent until 2012 I have first hand experience of Steve Murr's giddiness when it comes to predicting snow depths, which never come even close to happening.

If he was right even half the time then we would all be living in igloos...

Mmmm the wife is off to London for some work training Monday and Tuesday......on the one hand I get uninterrupted weather forum and model viewing the downside she might get stuck up there and not get back (yes this is a downside :) )

Nothing on the apps yet even though we have be warned not to take notice of them for ppn.

Guessing Saturday warnings might be if any weather warnings come out?

What are people’s current estimations of snow in the SW from this?

Guessing if the low pressure bumps into the the SW approaches it will be party time. But on a easterley fetch showers yes but can't imagine there will be much on the ground the further west you go. But these situations are not common experience is limited so who knows!

Didn’t think I’d come in here to 60 new posts. Thought only the MAD thread for tact busy.

to use technical terminology................"Tons of the bloody stuff"....lol

ramp aside, still too early to tell, from an easterly convective source, east facing coasts and just inland *south devon, south cornwall) could do surprisingly well.....for us in Wilts, some showers will penetrate from the east into our neck of the woods, embedded troughs will enhance this, and any fronts moving up from the south/south west will be snow makers given the dry surface flows with attendant low wet bulb temps

Talking of open fires, during '63 (although getting coal was a hardship) open fires were a life-saver. Many households had them back then, so when the power went off, they had heating!

We're screwed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just had the weirdest experience at work no joke. A 90+ year old women who I do work for just grabbed my hands staring at me in eyes and saying to prepare myself and family for extreme snow as she can "feel" it coming! She looked demonized! Very very odd. Freaked me right out considering she's not seen any charts.

Down to -0.2°C. That's 22 frost days so far this Winter. Frost season started 105 days ago.

Temp: 4.2°C - Hum: 70% - Dew: -0.8°C - Bar: 1023.57hPa -  Wind: E ~ ENE @ 8mph.

Doing some calculations of the MetO's forecasts from Monday > between projected temp and humidity, it looks very likely that -10°C dew points will be achieved, perhaps lower than that?!

As long as it has Gin, as far as I'm concerned it doesn't need to leave the runway :D
