Whichever way you look at it, the 12Z wants to cut off the coldest air a hell of a lot faster than the 06Z. I suspect it'll sit slightly out of kilter on the ensembles.

Oh dear I sense Mapantz is getting ready to downgrade to a docked status :help:

Just catching up with the mad thread (only 2 pages in) but I'm inclined to believe it's going to happen, maybe even be a truly memorable event. Sudden model wisdom on my part? Don't be silly....Bring Back 1962-63 is fully on board, he knows his stuff and isn't a ramper. If he believes, so do I.

I hope so Jethro. I’m having a wobble here.. feeling quite negative all of a sudden.

In the mod thread everyone moaning is up north. More than happy with the run. I've been worried about the high going to far north.

If you actually take it at face value, the really good stuff lasts about 3 days on the 12Z, whereas the 06Z is perfection all the way out to the end of the run. I'm not taking it literally because the 18Z will probably improve over the 12Z. I'm just highlighting that the 12Z is nowhere near as nice as the 06Z was.

Then i'd just walk to my local pub or walk into local town for bits and pieces.

Only happened once in 2009 when we were stuck for about 4 days but I have dried pasta and always my legs.:)

OMG, canibal!

In 2010 it was ice under foot that was the biggest problem - I remember crabbing down the slope of the underpass on the common, holding onto the wall for dear life! And do you remember that day of the black ice, when everything looked perfectly normal but there was no traction underfoot at all?!!! That was incredible! But a bad day for the NHS.

Hubby bought me some strap-on crampons around that time - they're still in the box, so maybe I shall see if they're any good next week :)

Strap on tampons I read that as!!!!!

I just don't see how it can shift that quickly, unless its a marginal set up. Once in the path of the cold flow, whoever is in that will stay in it for quite a time surely?

It was the High wot won it :D

Daft that northerners get upset over this though we have not seen decent laying snow event across region for 8 years and the south east for 5 years. :pardon:

Temperatures now at plus 2 on the East Anglian coast. Dartmoor has lost 6 degrees over the last 4 hours and my feet are beginning to feel cold.

A warm 8.7C down here so little reason to see cold air right now, only down 3C on the daytime maximum..

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
