I must admit working in the emergency services for the nhs I am getting a little concerned with the output at present, where I work we are full on a daily basis and the struggles everyday are massive, I cant begin to think what it will be like if the weather came close to what is being shown on the models at present.

So, what can we expect from that chart @karlos1983 if it verifies like that?

hmm.....whilst seeing bitterly cold charts is great, there is a dawning reality.......spare a thought for those of us who work outdoors and are self employed.....As my missus pointed out to me, a week unable to work and earn will put us right up the creek without a paddle.......not to mention the vunerable (elderly etc) .......I haven't posted in the model threads as it will just get shot down, but whilst snow and ice incoming on the outputs is nice etc, the wild ramping shown by many in there shows a real detatchment from the reality of what those kind of charts (if they verify) will have on the country

I have to admit it scares me too. I feel very unprepared for what if we had a metre?! How the hell do we get out and about etc? And dress up for it? I don't have owt beyond welly boots which i'm sure would be no where near warm enough ... I dunno I need a lesson

If people had winter tires... they wouldn't worry.

I use two just on the front dec to feb normally they far less scary and work better in the cold rain too but i might leave them on for march this time.

Other than Hard nipples!!! Ridiculous big beefy snow showers!! And if it comes off, just accept that it’s extremely unlikely we will witness that depth of cold in our part of the world again in our lifetime, in Near as darn it March! That’s a memorable event of it comes off!

I think this run may be reflecting MetO thinking - the middle of the week is just one solid blizzard with frontal attacks SW to NE

I'm gobsmacked... and struggling to come to terms with multiple gobsmack moments over the last few days. When on earth are we actually going to see a downgrade????

Damn

Oh the SW would get absolutely buried.  Conservatively 10+ feet drifts, Cornwall, Devon totally cut off.  Best I get down there and find a good pub

Ooohhhhh it all seems too good to be true and it’s still a week away. It’s going to downgrade. I just know it!!

A week is a chuffing long time

Thing is, it’s not a week away until the cold air arrives and the pattern is in place. So whilst there is still time for it to go Pete tong....... not a huge amount! Snow different story, but cold looks quite nailed. We are getting a fair bit of consistency in the output now. But remain slightly grounded for now perhaps.
