these uk snow risk maps have no similarities every time they have updated today so it shows how uncertain this is

After this morning's GFS charts, and the 12Z, things were on the up. The ECM OP brought us a dose of reality and the GFS 18Z looked to be starting well, before sliding down the black run with the skiis missing. The ECM OP run shouldn't be ignored completely, but the mean was a bit of light relief.

All-in-all, everything added up, my pantzalert is as follows:

Looking forward to the coming week's charts, though.

This is for our region btw, not for the UK as a whole.

Haha.Mine too. Have even taken to opening weather related tabs incognito on the work puter in case they think I'm obsessed ( and also so they can't see how much time I spend on them now.)

It's amazing how busy this thread becomes when there's something looming?! It reminds me a bit of a Summer plume/Thunderstorm breakdown. When the storms start affecting the Southwest, this thread comes alive! I love it!

Oh yes! After this Easterly kicks in, 1500J/kg of CAPE will develop in the South, along with 30m/s DLS - snowy super-cells likely! :D
