The hail turned back to rain fairly quickly but the rain drops seemed to be of the convective type.

The temperatures started yo yoing since the showers have started, it keeps rising in between the showers then dropping back again during them. Also the winds increased a bit in the last couple of hours.

The temptation is strong but we can all stay strong together. After my quick gander in I'd thought I'd nip across to TWO (as it tends to be a little less hyperbole) to get a balance...well they have started ramping too...So to get a bit more balance I nipped to the drinks cabinet and poured a large gin...

i feel more balanced now

TMI ! Lol ohhh the weather type wind ... yeah ( sorry, I'm needing a giggle at the moment my rheumatoid arthritis is absolutely off the scale at them moment ) 

Im not drinking gin alas or any other alcohol based drinks but the humour o. This thread keeps me going. 

Its blasting away here as well ( according to a nifty new little weather station  site I found ) at 36mph . . 

And my basic little station seems to be cutting the mustard too . 

Cant keep up with the change in conditions at the moment makes me very dizzy.

Can hear the wind quiet loudly now, really gusty out there. Temperature already rising quickly ahead of the rain.

Just had what seemed like a 5 second hail shower. Not even showing on the radar it's that small.

Looks like a couple of isolated cells running NE from around the Somerset area, ahead of the main rain band. Could be convective winds some are experiencing..?

Calm here at the moment.

... and there's a nice little thunderstorm in the Bay Of Biscay, associated with our weather system. A recent sferic showing just East of Oxford.

Right, here it comes, it was very quiet about 10 or so mins ago, now wind is distinctly picking up .. won’t be long I suppose before that sodding rain arrives- couple of hours?

Horrendous squall about 5am woke the house up. Wind calmed now just raining. No snow really up top yet.
