I don’t think so unfortunately, think you’ll find the temps rising quite quickly ahead of the front... I’ll happily be proven wrong though (for your sake!)

It was -2C overnight but the wind has already turned into the S-SSW and temperatures are rising quickly now 2.7C..

We have woken up to ice on cars here, and freezing temps. Haven’t checked yet but no doubt around -2 or -1. But the interesting thing is we have rain turning up probably in the next hour. Which actually will be a blessing for me this morn, as I could do without hard ground in about 2 hours or so. Question is will it or just be freezing rain. Or dare I say it some snow. radar is definitely saying rain with no change. Let’s see heh?

We had -6 overnight and it was still -2 at 8 am. Warming very rapidly I'm afraid and it's now drizzling ahead of the rain band. Not even ice

Up to a tropical 4C with light rain now after frost in the early hours.

Cold rain here, temp 4.0c.

Yet another weekend day that turned out wet.

Think tomorrow should be better.

Looks like the SSW isn't going to favour us immediately, mag have to wait a while before colder snowy conditions appear. Maybe March time

And with the rising temperature cones the rain, soggy Saturday has begun...

Yep. The start of the day was beautiful though. Walked to work at 7.15 as the sun came up. Stunning sunrise, frost on the grass and the birds singing. Spring is just around the corner

Saturday should be called rainday! It’s getting repetitive now!

Had a low of -3.0C overnight but a quick rise in the last 45 mins of 4.5C now sees my temp at 5.7C

0 at the moment but there's already frost on the grass. The early morning walk to work looks like it'll either be icy/frosty/mild/wet. Good luck with forecasting t +792 when t+8 is uncertain :D

Well, as predicted by my gut we've had ice, frost and now rain heralding the milder air. Who needs models with a gut like mine?:nea::rofl:

So from what I understand, the SSW is happening tomorrow, and zonal winds are off the scale... when will we have an idea of how far off the scale they actually went? And then, when will we know the full impact and how it’s going to affect the UK as a whole? I’ve read that 15th-19th February dates are significant? But when will the cold set in (IF it sets in?)

Temps are rising slowly by the judge of the damn ménage. But raining ever so slightly now so am pleased! I can put the horse out! ( one can’t go on frozen ground as it bruises the soles of his feet sensitive flower)

Another frost last night but quickly disappeared as the rain came in. Wet and increasingly windy now.

The MAD thread is a place to be treated with extreme caution. Tend to only read the posts of knowledgeable, prudent, sensible posters as the rest annoy me beyond relief. Reacting to every model run instead of responding and looking for trends (and not anything beyond a three to four days).

Mr Murrs latest post is interesting... well, if I’m interpreting it as I think it should be ?
