It actually looks like foam flying around - I just went and stared hard out the window and some bits whirling past are well over an inch across, fluffy conglomerations of snow...

We had about 15 minutes of drizzle and then 45 minutes of moderate snow which sadly didn't settle. Then it stayed cold and dry throughout the day.

Tomorrow looks horrible but Sunday may give us occasional snow showers if they blow far enough inland from the Cheshire gap...

(GFS is probably overdoing it though)

Sunday looks better for a Cheshire Gap streamer and the airmass looks colder.

BBC showing plenty more opportunities for snow next week.

Then we have the potential for bitter cold from the east.

Winter is a long, long way from finished.

Absolutely! Totally agree. Get tomorrow out of the way then who knows? Interesting period ahead.

-1 here tonight with clear sky.

Winds look to be WNW on Sunday, which normally means showers head north of Stoke and those that try to move towards here get killed by the Welsh mountains. Yet the Met Office and BBC both show frequent snow showers here. Hmm. We'll see.

Yep I concur. So annoying watching them band up just to the N of here.

The Euro4 model looks good for here though, and for much of the Midlands.

Yep streamer after streamer setting up. Some places in the sweet spot could do well. Also No marginality at all.

Winds too westerly, streamers will be Stockport, moving ESE into Derbyshire
