I’ll be very surprised if we get more than just a few light flurries on Tuesday tbh. Hope I’m wrong but it will just be dull and raw...we shall see

Thinking same also for Thursdays snow (now Friday) but we will probably end up being too far east

I'm reckoning that here in Telford we will have a week of decent proper cold weather, with general snowiness on at least a couple of different days, even if it barely settles and/or barely covers the ground.
My pet hate is miserable damp grey "winter" weather - obviously I'd love another 14-inches of snow, but I will be very happy just with proper cold weather so I can see my breath as I walk and I have to wear mittens and hat, that kind of thing. There's something wrong if I can walk home comfortably from the shops in winter with only a light sweater, bare hands and no hat!

I was expecting it to look more fragmented than that. Looks good! Doesn't show anything settling though. I don't know how after a cold night and start to Tuesday.

Tuesdays front looks to reach us and sit around for most of the day until it weakens into nothing, although expecting it to be mostly light from the start anyway.

Had a brief and very light, sleety, graupelly shower here about 20 minutes ago!

PS: Good to see things regarding Tuesday’s snow possibility improved a bit, although the whole thing could do with another slight adjustment further East!

Snowing and leaving a dusting here last 15 minutes :shok: seems out of nowhere. Anyone else seeing the same??

more sleet then snow I think

edit - about stopped now. Looking on radar patchy showers from North Sea heading over this way.

18z Euro4. Increases the precipitation (snow) rate from Tuesday's front. Still shows none settling despite air temperatures, dew points and surface temperatures below freezing. *Shrugs*.

BBC latest forecast said 10 cm over the Pennines. 2-3 cm in towns and cities.

Light snow in Belper, everything now covered in a light dusting. More than a flurry but still light. Radar shows more to come in from the east.

Yes pretty much same here TM, Still the odd flake floating down with hardly any wind to speak of currently.

Looks like the weather’s been a real troublemaker in Solihull too, vandalising cars with little white flakes!

hearing on SE thread though that front peps up at it enters the SE, Midlands looks the place where front is at it's weakest

if it was rain of course, we'd be in the place with the most active front

Some models have it pepping up a bit as it moves towards the South East, and maybe the north East Midlands. Think I’m decently placed in the West Midlands.

Funnily, the GFS, which has been the most progressive with it all a long is now the least.

Still very much  a ifference  with the approaching front   a few have the front weakening to nothing as it reaches us  the Euro 4 and Hirlam are quite decent  nothing like before Christmas  but the Hirlam does show the front stalling over the midlands  with snow (albeit light)  over us for around 8 hours.  Not expecting alot  but another day this winter were many around here will see snow falling.  Friday?.  Meh  we shall see
