It's odd, we seem to have had continual snow since Wednesday yet the really fine stuff, I have no real idea how much we've actually had (12-15cm?) but just imagine how it would have been had we had some proper flakes.

yes, would have been like the West midlands, I'd say 10-12cms average, but more in places, Dec 11 though great cover

I think we did better than the W. Mids from the streamers off the east coast.

Ay, favours the north of the region, also we were well placed for the good little event on the evening of Sunday 11th Feb! mon 12th Feb

Hmm. Refusing to visit the north west of the region so far.

Pretty sure it's slowed down, it will undoubtedly stall or break up pretty soon.

Down to snizzle now. I went out one more time, found a (small) snowdrift and jumped in it two-footed like the utter big kid I am. :D Short of any really unexpected happenings, I'm going to use that bit of silliness as marking the end of this spell for me.

It looks like the last rites of this cold spell now. Snow coming down quite heavily now. The milder air to follow close behind . A shame but hey ho as a region we haven't done badly for snow days this Winter imo .

Oops, almost missed this. For some reason I didnt think it was due to arrive til 11pm so I paid no attention til I happened to see out the window.

Roads already covered, probably another centimeter here. Coming down steady.

Inching it's way towards here. Radar echos are brighter than most we've had here this week. Fingers crossed!

Just been out for a walk round by the country footpaths near here by Clayhanger (I know it's late but I heard from a mate who had been down there earlier and I thought I just have to see, been as I've been at work all day today and will also be tomorrow. There's a narrow path there between two fields with a wire fence on one side and trees and hedges on the other and I tell you what I had to navigate the most impressive drifts I've yet witnessed in real life. A couple of them were nearly waste deep.  I also saw deer foraging in another field and they started trying to follow me, which kind of worried me a bit but they kept their distance. And its snowing heavy again now.The cold and snowy spell of late February/early March 2018 is definitely my new favourite yet, now.
