Anyone with a macro lens needs to go and photograph the amazing snowflakes falling right now. This is the best i can do

So, both hi res models over which whose territory this system is evolving - Hirlam and Arpege (both I would have a lot of respect for) - have very decent accumulations forecast by Friday morning from

Don't worry. I'm sure precipitation will finally reach Stoke over the weekend. Just as it becomes too marginal for snow

Well that looks to be that for this winter unless it gains some life from somewer. Surprised the models expected it to be still going past midnight.

Brilliant event this has been today. Makes up for the frustration earlier in the week. Still snowing and has been since two.

Looking at the radar it will probably be stopping here in the next half hour

Seems to have stopped for the time being here in Telford TF3, but it has totally covered everything with a good inch or two, thick thick stuff.

3am this morning I woke to a huge flash through the curtains and the electric went off. It came back on at 8:30am. My electric has been off and on all day. The workmen have been out there all day digging the road and doing stuff. Just checked and the poor guys are still out there now working away. Hat's off to the Western Power engineers, they've certainly earned their money today.

Most of small covering we managed this week has gone, with sub zero temperatures and no sunshine, Roll on next winter!

Yeah some intensification happening - look at the NW radar for Worcester then run the time back to 18:30 then compare to Latest...

Big difference and I’m on the edge and can confirm bigger flakes

Can certainly see some intensification in some areas at south of band.

Not sure about that. Overall its on its way out fast. We need something to reignite it

Patches of more intense PPN on both the SW and SE side of the band now....need that to continue as it moves north.
