Incredibly cold already tonight.

Temp is  -6.8C  Wind-chill is -10.1C   Dew-point is  -13.1C

All this with the wind at 9 KmH.

It is clear now here, but the possibility of snow shower later is possible.

Re the ECM - it is very similar to the GFS I got excited about last night.

It now remains a strong possibility that we get the snow, and that the cold can hang on, giving us quite a few further possibilities.

It will be now-casting for tomorrow, and I have seen instances in the past when the mornings forecasts turned out wrong by evening. So a 'bad' forecast in the morning is not necessarily going to be correct.

Nor the other way.

Good luck guys (and gals)

MIA...

Yea no snow for Friday or Thurs in Shrewsbury according to the met app. Don't think it can be trusted.

Also a little streamer setting up to hit Shrewsbury area hopefully

That wash streamer looks to miss me to the North, reallllyyyyy not been my day hahaha, oh well, I've given up with this spell I think :D

Hmm, so those in Stoke suggest it's missing them to the South and you're suggesting missing you to the North, so that puts it ermmm, around about where I am...:D

Yeah interesting what Chris Fawkes had to say. Hopefully he's onto something.

Missed it what did he say?

That's what I use, and recommended it to everyone I know.

It looks dry tonight in the gap between Nottingham and Reading, so not much for the West Midlands.

Right, taking bets on that massive shower seemingly heading straight for me.

a) magically disintegrate

b) either go to my north or south

c) split in two with one part going to my North and the other going to my South.

d) the radar shows it hitting me but it doesnt snow anyway

All 4 have happened today :D

Aha, very much feel your pain there my fellow coldie :friends:

Expects hirlam to be close to what happens

Just looked at Hirlam, and shows from 2pm onwards tomorrow very heavy snow for Midlands area.

And it shows the clear area that we have now on the radar, so does seem accurate??

A more representative pic of what the snow in Bewdley was like earlier. The end of the road, which you can just see if you squint, is maybe 60 to 70 metres away.

There will be outbreaks of snow across the Midlands tomorrow, but more especially across the western half. Then during Friday and spell of snow pushes north across the region.

I see a lot of people thinking they won't see anything but, the above is what all the models and forecasts show.
