Here in Telford, it's been snowing for a good half-hour now, just starting to settle slushily on wet cars, bins, rooves and grass - we had sleet for ages before the snow, and rain before that, so the ground is very very wet.

It is falling pretty well completely vertically, though - it seems to have no wind movement at all out there. It looks like "film snow" you know the way it comes down prettily in Christmas movies, straight down in fluffy flakes? Like that.

But I think it's sooo wet out there, and the snow is struggling to settle on actual ground...

It's VERY lovely to sit here with a cosy hot water bottle and enjoy watching it as I knit!

slight easterly breeze here, low is sliding across south, so air must be colder than it was earlier

Heaviest snow of the day here, hints of it starting to settle.

It was wonderful to watch the transition to the all snow here.

Large wet flakes now falling vertically (now 90% ice), and is starting to settle on my conservatory roof and I can now see white on the lawn,

Temp - which rose to 2.3C in the bright spell I mentioned 30mins ago has now dropped to 1.5C again and the DP has started to drop  slightly again from 0.6C to +0.2C.

As  I speak a litte less heavy and a little more sleet. So it is still somewhat marginal.

I have just checked my records and so far thiswinter and I have recorded 8 days with snowfalling and laying snow on 14.

Better than all the since 2010.

Still we have time yet!

Whilst I have been typing it has dropped again to 1.3C  now 1.2C with a DP of -0.2C...

We could be in for a snowfall again today.

Yep Met Office app spot on with heavy snow at 12 call this morning, it maintains heavy snow till 2pm, then light snow 2-4pm. Maybe sneak a covering after all.

Bucketing it down in Sedgley   Altitude is a real factor   Down the road in Wombourne it was rain   here its lashing it down with snow  amazing when you drive up a hill and see it transistion.  Lovely winter this year
