Is the snow only here for a very short time - I,e minutes or is it likely to carry on for longer until it turns to rain?

By the looks of it, it's going to be brief.

Not strange at all, most of the PPN this week has died a death as it's got into Staffordshire.

More snow only light at present just adding to what's already down. Shame the rain is fast approaching. RIP Winter 2017/2018 You will live long in the memory.

Really should have left my snow deflector in London.

I have no excuse as I was born here, but surely you should have checked the chances of snow before moving to Stoke? :D

Still snowing with pretty big flakes but as we no it’s going very soon I’d rather it just get on with it now lol, bring on warmth

If Current temps stay the same and low then not sure it will turn to rain, might not go on as long as last nights fall. Great if it does! :D

Slackening off here now. Just been out with the ruler (which has done sterling work this winter!) and there's around1.5cm of new cover. Enough to cover all the bare patches from traffic etc this afternoon. Looks really nice; shame it's not going to last.

certainly had a lot though it seems, loads of drifts, still feel overall snowwise 10-11Dec was better, as no wind, white trees, complete cover

this more snow days, better cold spell, but incomplete cover due to gales, and sun

A bit breezy here, but certainly calmed down from earlier. Having said that, just heard the tell tale roar down my chimney! But the snow is settling, stickier and wetter snow from what we've been used to this week.

Quite a big change really short term, but is it right, and might it change more.

Option #1 gets my vote every time :good:

But if I had to choose between either a big snow event and a warm up OR less snow but remaining very cold, I'd probably plump for the second option overall. Snow events which eventually lead to milder conditions never quite do it for me, even if the initial snow is pretty significant.

Bish

Not bad, one last snow day?

It's odd, we seem to have had continual snow since Wednesday yet the really fine stuff, I have no real idea how much we've actually had (12-15cm?), but just imagine how it would have been had we had some proper flakes.
