Great event this. Back yards getting buried and snow seldom settles easily on there, and still coming down heavy, with a mix of small to moderate flakes. Got to be one of my new favourites this.

Do we think that the snow will die off by about 12 tonight as the TV are predicting ?  The mainly dry tomorrow ?   Im hoping to drive into work tomorrow morning , so hoping it wont be any worse than when I go in about 7:30  .

its only about 4 miles but if the roads are still bad I wont get in again.

Why drive when you can just get the laptop out lol?

Hi Mate , that's not a Thames streamer!!! Anyway the front is pulsating bring frequent heavy snow along with some drier periods to this area , and it seems to have pepped up.....:yahoo:

Guys..

I said you would not believe me!

If you go back to 18:00hrs the front was dieing as it approached London.

You can actually see the streamer setting up in about 20mins.It goes due West straight into the back-endof the trough.

It then starts to re-invigorate the trough a it moves NW, with the whole backend of the trough starting to become more active..

For more details check in the Kent thread they describe it on there. .The re-invigorated trough then builds and moves straight up towards us getting more active all the time.

I picked it up from the kent thread at the time, and tracked it along.

You can still seethe results of another streamer behind this one.

MIA

It’s been snowing for 7 hours here now, lovely covering.  My 4 1/2 drive home last night was definitely worth my cheeky snow day today

Yeah it’s a lie. I’ve been there this evening. That’s been on the map for hours and I don’t know why!

I'll be sad to see the cold weather end and (realistically) the end of the last proper cold until next winter. It has been a fun winter though, even with the disappointment of this week. Hoping the solar minimum may bring more in the way of cold winters in the years to come!

Anyway..

Its absolutely pelting down again here...Having got heavier for the last 2hours.

We might well have 10-15cms from it now.

Temperature droping to -3.1C now

Nope defiantly not, the more the better, even if I'm trapped in the house and have to jump out the window to get out, I don't care :)

You seem to have done well how long you think it will hang around for? About 8cms here im guessing. On top of some decent drifts from yesterday.

Fed up with the will it/wont it situation, the answer so far to the will it wont it, is clearly it wont, its yet another disappointing cold snap with very limited amounts of snow that either blew away in the wind, or melted as soon as it fell.

Lets put it out of its misery and bring on the rain/warm sunshine
