Is Stoke the only place to miss out all week? It feels like it :sorry: My Facebook is full of snowy photos from all my friends and family across the UK. How ironic that the coldest and most snowy spell for the UK in years is the worst of the winter here.

Come on matt, chin up.

Theres still time and if all else fails you can drive up the road into the moorlands tomorrow. Mate of mine took 3 hours to get from Leek to Rushton, ended up dumping his car and getting a friend to pick him up in a landy.

Would love to visit the Moorlands sometime but I don't drive. I was going to walk round the local parks and nature reserves this weekend instead but there's no point now.

I drove there this morning, you've had it much worse than here. Dread to think what it's like now. Reports on radio of roads completely impassable.

Blowing a gale here,  light snow but still drifting.

Usually it's the other way round. Seems to intensifying again. Must be a level 20 cms now similar to Dec 10th

Good accumulation here in Coventry, nearly 8cm so far, started picking up again. Here is a pic from the front of the house

Like GP said there is definitely an east to west movement with intensification as well. Thought this would have been finished 2 hrs ago but it’s getting worse(better) ??

Genuine question. What could it be that, all week has caused every snow shower/outbreak of snow to weaken rapidly as it approaches here? I'm not aware of any high ground to the south or east of here that could kill it off but it seems to happen every time and it's happening again tonight :cc_confused:

Yep...

Also getting heavier again here.

Today is my 19th day of snowfall and my 24thday of laying snow.

Not bad, but I  want to get to 20days.  It somehow feels better.

It is very unusual now.

Thames streamers keep forming into the base of the trough, and are then being sent NW towards us.

I reckon thats a first!!

Just look at the last 2 hours of netweather radar. You can see it happen.

Just think along with everything else we get a Thames streamer!! If any tell anyone they will think I am mad.:cold::girl_devil::cc_confused:

It’s purely down to the low pressure not moving far enough north just getting blocked as far as I no
