I'm surprised by people's disappointment in the lack of intensity of this band. It was never forecast to be heavy, just light-moderate with a few heavier bursts in places.

Even though the flakes aren't big, it's still settling nicely! Had 2 hours of light-moderate snow in Oxford and it's accumulated 3-4cm on top of the 5-7cm we already had! I think it will stall now over the Midlands and give light-moderate snow for a good 4-5 hours now, possibly longer. Won't exactly be blizzard conditions but better than no snow at all!

Whiteout in Worcester - going to be more snow than 2010 at this rate......just wish it was going to hang around. Def not complaining though. Hope all get the same if not snowing already.

Anyone who likes it needs to make the most of saturday i think.

Coming down nicely, hopefully doesn’t weaken too much and stalls for a few hours

Just look at the intensity of that system in the Irish Sea! What a waste lol

Exactly! Today + Yesterday + mid-December = our first excellent winter since 2012/13 :yahoo:

Heavy snow coming down now.

Some serious drifts down the lanes from last night...

Honestly guys the second wave of the band is great....temp down dew point up a bit...its a whiteout pretty much and accumulating really fast. Hope it gets to you but at the same time hope it stalls over me!

Coming down well here. Everything is covered now; roads, pavements, cars. It's heavier than what we had all day yesterday.

Heavy snow in Dudley and Halesowen for the past hour or so, starting to really accumulate now with larger flakes.

Here are some of the drifts from the road behind my house. It’s a screenshot of a video I took but can’t upload it

Hirlam 12z shows the snow area still across many of us at 9pm

then it only slowly eases north before fading.

Exactly peoples disappointment stems from the fact that some have had hardly anything. Where others have been spoilt and the difference has been a couple of miles. Or constantly being on the edge of every snow event all week. That's why some are dissapointed

If thats on the money then given the snowfall now some places could be close to 10cms
