I never knew this secret community of snow lovers existed. Everyone I speak to always moans about the snow. I know it can be a pain in the weeble if you have to travel, but when I see a snow leaden sky with big fat flakes falling it transports me back to being a child again. It's magical!

Only small flakes coming down here at present, though there were moderate ones about 10 minutes ago. Still a lot of them though and they're recovering all the bare patches after a slight thaw earlier which has ended with some nice long icicles about. Hope that heavy stuff gets here though.

Oh, there's plenty of moaning about the snow in this thread - "my backyard only has three inches, and up the road has four inches!" :D

Welcome... yes, it's magical and I love it, even if it doesn't settle... even if it ends up not snowing, I love the excitement of maybe-maybe-maybe...!

Surely they have to issue an Amber warning this is getting really bad now and by far worse than yesterday. And 10 hours to go still.

Absolutely caking it down here and adding to the accumulations from yesterday. Best winter since 2010 here...

The radar is looking excellent. Surely the Met Office will issue and amber warning.

They don't give a crapola about the Midlands, gotta be a southern snowflake or hardcore weather northerner for them to care  :D

It's quite heavy here too theirs still many rural villages cut off from drifting snow blocking roads. Honestly it's really bad. Never seen anything like it,  Further south I drove worse it got.

I have seen more snow ploughs in my life than any time can remember today.

wind is howling, cannot see much settling, even if I get any, just a few flakes now, roofs no snow on them, paths too, certain parts have 10cms+ on

hopefully that lot crossing the Channel above Brugge looks good for the North of our region. Notts, Derby, S. Yorks etc.

if it stays on its current track though.

Bigger flakes descending now, sky looks full of it.  Very gusty as well.  View from my patio of the snow falling

False start here in Melton Mowbray. Was a few fine flakes, but stopped immediately.

BBC and Met Office app had "Heavy Snow" all day and we've barely seen a flake yet!
