Don't hold much hope today, Hinckley under moderate snow according to the radar and nothing coming out the sky

Really? Now?

That whole band of snow will be through the West Mids by 7 the pace it is moving. Is it meant to stall because our forecast is snow until midnight or after

This band now beginning to look organised, and interesting most reporting a sudden drop in temps along the northern edge.

Forecasts earlier had this front stalling. Could get interesting..

It looks like the front is moving in a NNW direction, so some will hit the jackpot and some will miss alot of the fun.

moderate snow here now, temps have dropped back down from a high of 0.6'c earlier, to -0.5'c now, with 61% humidity and dew points of -7.1'c

It's the heaviest it's been, I can imagine this will be our biggest fall of the cold spell today and tonight, and we have all of tomorrow to enjoy it before a slow thaw sets in on sunday :-)

Massive drifts up the hill round the back of my house, the snow coming down now is heavier than at any point yesterday!

Only annoying thing for me personally is that this band is moving at a rate of knots through Oxfordshire! This will be over by 3:30pm here if it carries on like this. No sign of stalling yet for this area.

Still, if it does clear by 3:30pm, this last 5 days has been a good event. Seen powdery snow of which I don't think i've ever seen in my 29 years. Was like sand blowing across the road!

Really coming down now, and the flakes are certainly a bit more sizeable than what we saw yesterday.

Currently -1.3°C with a dp of -4.6°C. We fleetingly edged just above 0°C earlier, thus depriving us of our third successive ice day :nonono:

Temperature in Worcester has dropped from +0.4c down to -1.6c in just over an hour and the snow is amazing, a mixture of small flakes like yesterday and much larger flakes plus the wind has just picked up again....

Snow that was light to moderate for about half an hour has suddenly upped its intensity.

Temperature just below freezing max, but has dropped rapidly in the snow to -1.6C now, wind-chill -6.2 and dp is -5.1C.

The thermometer in the sun just got up to 0.4C when the sun hazily appeared at about 13.15.

Dew-Points are now rising which may well be the reason for the heavier snowfall.

Also reports from London and the home counties are indicating that the snow belt is expanding.

If it stalls we may be in the hotspot later on.
