Will Telford get any from this?

Yes, if GFS is correct atleast. You are well placed in fact.

By tomorrow morning:

Any pics buddy?

See above ! ^ :)

Though as usual everyone should bear in mind model output accumulation charts are notoriously inaccurate. Nothing more than a very rough guide.

Road closures for the North Midlands from the local council.

This was the A515 in the early hours

  • A53 Leek Road
  • A537 Cat and Fiddle

  • B6105 Torside Glossop to the A628
  • Rushup Edge, near Castleton
  • Winnats Pass, near Castleton
  • A624 Chapel to Glossop
  • A623 Chapel to Calver

Impassable routes:

  • A515 Buxton to Newhaven
  • A5012 Via Gellia (Pikehall to Newhaven)
  • A5270 Coalpit Lane south of Buxton
  • A6 at Taddington
  • A5004 Long Hill, Whaley Bridge to Buxton
  • Rotherham Road - Harthill Road to Worksop Rd
  • Baslow Rd - Holmesfield to Owler Barr
  • Main Rd - Owler Barr to Barlow
  • School Ln/Top Lane, Wadshelf
  • B6050, side of Robin Hood pub
  • Rotherham Road - Stoney Houghton to Green Lane
  • B5006 Derby Road, Ticknall
  • Rosliston Road South, Rosliston
  • Kedleston Road, between Weston Underwood and Church Road, Quarndon
  • A511 Ashby Road East, Bretby
  • A515 Ashbourne Road, Sudbury
  • Hallcroft Avenue, Overseal
  • Coton Lane, Lullington
  • Unnamed road, linking Coton Road and Lullington village
  • B6025 Alfreton Road, Tibshelf to Westhouse

JCB going up and down my lane. Must be a few drifts blocking parts of the lane where snow has gathered. Really weird seeing thin layers of snow then deep drift all of a sudden.

Hirlam, Arpege and GFS 06z in good agreement on this: 5-10cms widely. More with elevation.

The Beast from the East finally roared here in South Staffs with huge drifts in places... Out track was cleared twice by the kind farmer at 11 last night and again at 7 this morning otherwise I would have been snowed in

The first one is a car in the distance well and truly stuck on the road out of the village...

Today we will see better accumulation as slighly warmer air mixes in so we are more likely to get 'wet snow' rather than the powder we have got so far.

Yes this continental snow has been nice but give me the English snow any day.  Might even be able to make a snowman

What a joke.

Very similar to Tamworth, I did measure 3cm in the back garden where it was sheltered from the wind. Out the front of the house very little on paths and roads, just random piles of drifted snow up and down the street lol.

Was still enjoyable though with that howling wind. Hope later today is better for us and still very windy at the moment.

Looks like some salt has been thrown over that small area of precip near Leicester, as it's just fizzilling away.
