EC rolling out also seems to have initialised poorly with the eastward extent of the storm. Models not very good on this one.

The sweet spot looks to be Salisbury Plain.

Please push further north east. I want some of the heavy stuff.

I think we all wishing for that. It means a better night for every part of the midlands. That stuff in the channel is gonna bury some places tonight!

Yeah the stuff in the channel is looking great. Need it to come up the east and blow over from the wash. Hopefully with some intensity left.

And confirms something we were seeing from this morning - this storm was much further east than the modelling was suggesting, Hirlam and Arpege apart (although the latter went tonto late on)

Looks like that's it for us with regards to any significant snowfall. Can't complain though woke up to 10-15 centimeters big drifts against walls, it was bleak and felt surreal like being in a different country. With the wind, the drifting of the lying snow was understated in the forecasts...quite a few times I got a face full of the stuff. I can't remember a more dramatic event for us in the the last 20 years. The Beast from the East really did deliver.

Now it's time for the West Mids to have their day it seems :)

i think if we stick with the ratre of snowfall we are getting, at least 6" should be on the cards, lest the brighter echoes :-)

Does that mean the hardest hit area will of moved east slightly too? It’s pretty mad out there
