Boiler dripping, pipes full of ice, had to pour hot water over the pipe in the blizzard, not nice at all, it is truly epic out there though, so worth the wait this week :)

Grass pretty much covered now :D

Down on the Gloucestershire Border, I am not sure if what we are seeing is a result of the easterly winds blowing snow inland off the north sea or are these small snow granules from the predicted storm Emma. Still cannot see how we will even get an inch out of this.

Is emma due to hit Midlands later or is it already here?

part of Emma, can see it's moving N, just hope not NW

How far North do we need it to get before it changes NW for the majority of us to get hit?

Outside is truly epic. The flakes are still tiny but it seems to be drifting and accumulating nicely. Really is quite evil weather outside. Looks like it's pivoting into west midlands so likely won't get any heavier or much accumulation for my neck of the woods, but I think you west midlands are in for a great night :D Have fun.

I think its gona get heavier for us before its over!!

would say about Northampton/Coventry, anything further east of there even better, even if we are too far north and east, this micro flake blizzard should continue all night

At the moment, it looks like on the radar that a pale blue patch of precipitation just east of Worcester is heading north directly for the West Mids conurb.

Just been for a walk in the fields around Belper and there is some amazing drifting going on. Snow depths range from a couple of cm to about 1-2 feet because of the drifting. Bitterly cold too. Lots of tiny flakes coming down now and recovering the road. I am hoping that the stuff further south can move S to N and then I may be grazed by that tonight.

We should get light snow for hours and hours, and maybe the odd heavier burst

yea looks a fair assessment, perhaps an inch of snow between now and midnight. Not that it will be obvious with it piled up in one or two places and none elsewer
