Just the odd flake here now. Was snowing at midnight & at 5am & 8am but not much of a top up. It looks like it's melting on cars.  No idea what the forecast is they seem to be all over the place.

Dudley: Overnight low -7.6C (03.35)

Halesowen: Overnight low -6.0C (01.02)

No real lying snow, only perhaps the frozen remnants of yesterday afternoon's fall of a few mms.  The Black Country and the wider West Mids seem to be in a hole around which snow is falling to varying amounts.  I'm expecting another ice day today and with the wind, it really is feeling bitingly cold.

Still coming down nicely in Belper, light to moderate snow blowing in the wind :)

If anyone looks at how much precipitation has dissipated on the radar over the last hour, it's quite, not amazing, but a huge amount has just gone. Also temp is on the up here now.

Absolutely gut wrenching here. Frozen crappy bits of snow. No full cover. Showers missing here left right and center. Never known a more depressing and frustrating cold spell. I reckon game over for me here just outside Wolvo. Gutted

We are just on the edge and we are getting light to moderate at the moment happy could be better. The roads are bad enough with this amount. Could not drive my wife to work this morning had to turn back.. hope for more but i think probably 5cms at the moment.

I am just on the bottom edge of your top black line. So not great but could be worse. Was in your position until today.

Gutting isnt it, Do you think the snow just to the south will eventually push through our snow shield?

Just very light going forward but better than nothing could do with it being a few 100m further south.

Some of us deserve some luck with this snow today. Please push further North. We must be the only bloody place in the country with a few frozen bloody flakes!

New to this site albeit i ve been browsing for a couple of years. It is frustrating when forecast apps tell us one thing and radar tells a different story. The BBC weather did intimate earlier that we may be in for a shout of snow tomorrow but keeping my fingers crossed for later this afternoon.

That's not reflected in the BBC West Mids forecast

Moderate snow continuing here, and likely to get a bit heavier in the next hour. Exactly as Hirlam and Arpege were suggesting yesterday.

Real deal is currently showing over Brest and forecast to track north - that's what you need to keep an eye on later this afternoon. At present, everything seems a few hours ahead of most modelling. Unbelievably Met Office still has me down as dry !!

Oh no the curse of Shefali !! Actually I think she may be partly right, but think her depth predictions are OTT.

Been hazy sun here for last half hour, unless there is a rapid change soon then this just going to be another wolves cock-up.

The low is filling out nicely over us, that snow shield from south wolves to stoke will soon disappear.

btw nice to see you back GP, I thought your employers had you locked in a basement in a straight jacket.
