We have had a few heavy showers. We get some melt in between but each one is increasing our cover.

Had a couple of heavy showers interspersed with a few light flurries since about 11:20. Just a dusting on some parts of the ground and on the grass.

Still a lot of uncertainty on eastward extent of the initial front's progress, and intensity varies greatly, as does the question of extent and intensity of the frontal band on Friday / Saturday. Could it really be ? Blizzard followed by another fall ?

Thanks for thoughts GP.

Great to see you posting in Regional  thread.

now if it panned out as above that would be some March weather to remember, although March 2013 (23.03.13) was good.

not sure of patterns that produced all that, will have a look at chart archive for a memory jog.:D

It's bitterly cold. Looks like a -7C overnight. It's already -3C here. I had to sleep on the sofa in the living room last night next to the stove as my bedroom was only 4.5C

would you adam and eve it.  :shok:

after last 1.5 hour blizzard, that's left close to 10 to 15cms here, we had fantastic blue sky and sun, great for kids to sledge in.

temps up to -1.8

BUT, After checking radar looks like there's round two incoming. (hope it holds its course and intensity,

streamer over North Notts moving in an Easterly direction, if that hits here, could cause trouble. Just as 1500 council employees are deciding whether to leave work early.

Just driven from Notts city centre back to Mansfield and has taken me over two hours plus to get home. As I drove north from Notts the weather has steadily got worse with blizzard conditions in places. I’ve managed to get Home to warsop which is particularly snowy at the moment and at least 4 inch’s on the ground

Just had a brief but really quite heavy shower. The snow hasn't settled, as the wind has really got up and was just blowing it around in patterns on the roads and pavements. Absolutely bitter in the wind -- not sure what the windchill is, but it must be pretty severe for this part of the world.

On course for an ice day today: max so far is -0.5 °C.

Just started snowing heavier here in Redditch and its settling as the ground is relativly dry.  Sky looks full of it.

Now the sun is shining and blue skies -  mad.  looks very pretty though.

We fleetingly got up to -0.3°C at around 13:30 or so, but it soon dropped back down once the showers finally started to reach us.

Currently -2.6°C with a dp of -6.4°C and snowing heavily :yahoo:

Swear I heard a rumble of thunder with the recent snow shower that went through. But could just have been a strong gust of wind.
