Showers are too light and if anything making the thaw quicker. Keeping an eye on the met forecast for snow tomorrow morning as winds turn direct easterly.

First decent shower here just finished.Quite heavy for about 5 mins, enough to give a covering.Only a few flurries otherwise since yesterday. The cold has certainly arrived as promised though.-7C earlier and by golly it felt bitter when i was out walking earlier.

There looks to be a whole rash of showers spreading west across the region now so hopefully many of us will get something by days end.:)

Another heavy shower here. Radar looking really quite nice. Very conducive temps too. Just need the strong nearly-spring Sun to keep away.

Snow now melted from earlier shower here. Despite being minus 2 currently the sun is just far too strong and warms the ground sufficiently before each shower that it won't hang around

wow big upgrade on the snow today, moved into an orange warning, torrential snow been given out, and yep its full on blizzard type snow.

County Council have sent out internal email asking employees not to leave yet, there sending out snow plough teams on the main roads to Chesterfield :shok:

Just driven home - 1/2 day at work :)

Chaos out there! Had been snowing nonstop for a couple hours and in the wind it was proper blizzard conditions with visability really low.

The minor prangs out there just about outweighed the amount of numpties driving like it was a summers day!

Was great fun :) had my current car exactly 3 years and this is the 1st proper snow-drive. Handled great for a little punto :p

Snow stopped the precise moment I pulled into the drive!

I don't envy my colleagues trying to get home this evening if these showers carry on...

Missing this line of heavy showers by about 5 miles now. Hate this winter.
