More like we have no clue so lets save our back sides ??

Yeah. Can't see how anyone wold get 0 cm from a front. Unless it's going to be fragmented or might stay further south.

very funny today coming up the M1 from Northants. The matrix signs were flashing

" Congestion Jnc 22 - 23 - Fog".

Perhaps they havnt  got Snizzle/Graupel/Blizzard on the list.

I decided to go past Leicester and headed up into a blizzard which put about 2" down in the Coalville-Bradgate park-Barrow on Soar area.

Got the drone out before it went dark - will post once its processed.

Temps down to -3 now and sheet ice everywhere......under fresh snow.

Maybe difference with the models ?  I understand the ukv had little precipitation out east On at least its last run. Maybe that's the uncertainty . To be honest it's a strange update

Wash looks to be prepping up again. Perhaps the coldest uppers are starting to increase convected PPN. Doubt they will make it to midlands but someone will get a dump further out

I was surprised that the cauldon canal was totally free of ice. Canals etc don't seem to do this any more. When I lived by Hanley Park in the mid 80s during one particular cold & snowy spell the kids were playing ice hockey round the island using branches & a little block of ice. One wag had sawn through the ice in the shallow part by a bank & the ice was so thick, through the hole that was left ,you could touch the bed.

Image 2 - Snow shower dies on its weeble.

Been happening all day. Probably 500 foot of snow 10 miles east of me.

Looks as if showers are veering from name to a more easterly direction, check radar out

For my area I'm apprehensive about Friday. So many times before I see it stall just north of Oxford/South Birmingham, I don't think it'll make it to the North Midlands.

Can't argue about some of those beefy showers today though....genuine whiteout blizzard conditions at times (if for short times) and city centre snow on pavements when leaving work, not often you see that.

What I find most interesting is that the MetO not-a-forecast has consistently shown a max temp here of -2c on Thursday.  That would be totally remarkable regardless of any snow

I have never recorded an ice day in March
