Late report as I was driving but had a brief blizzard around an hour ago here. Total white out conditions. It only lasted about 15 minutes but put down a couple of cm's briefly. Hopefully more to come :)

Is there anything more substantial forecasted for this evening and tonight?

It's turned lighter again now. It's frustrating that in the heavier bursts it still struggles to settle on certain surfaces, though it was having a good go. I think at this time of year you need it to happen in the middle of the night to successfully settle on all surfaces and then it has to be heavy all night to be thick enough to prevent too much daytime melt.

Had a few cm's to get upto in Talke (Stoke on Trent), this morning but nothing since and glorious sunshine.

To be honest wasn't really expecting too much from showers as was more interested by the low Friday. Let's hope that delivers. Although the only time I remember a really decent Snow fall around here was 1995 when Port Vale beat Everton. That's when we had a decent football team so must of been ages ago lol.

For some reason, since then, it seems with North Stoke on Trent, if it comes from the North West it stops at Bloody Crewe then starts again from Stafford, if it comes from the west it gets blocked by the Welsh Mountains, if it comes from the South it stops at bloody Stone and if it comes from the East it stops at Nottingham and turns around and sticks it's fingers up at us.

I've got to the conclusion I'll never see proper Snow again, unless I move to bloody Norway or summat lol

We will remain in the snow shower scenario that we are currently in but the distribution and areas affected will move around dependent on wind direction. This means some will get more than others.

Currently nothing persistent or widespread for the next couple of days, but still a possibility of prolonged snow at the end of the week.

Huge 15 minute blizzard there.

Vision dropped below 100m's.

Blown over but deposited a CM or so in quick time, all roads covered including main roads.

Heaviest snow of the Winter here massive flakes. This is a surprise.

Yet just a light shower here, just floating around like a fart in a bottle not really doing much. Quite a variety over a short distance.

Pretty to look at though.

Cool that amber's are out, don't cover much of the midlands yet, but they're very likely to be revised leading up to T0.

Just need a 30-40 mile jog with the majority of models forecast for Thursday to the east and upping the intensity and I will be happy.
