ICON shows Fridays low stalling over Midlands from T99 to T120. However, knowing our luck, it wont verify.

It's ICON, it wouldn't verify if it was T3 :D

ICON has generally been pretty accurate this winter to be fair

Personally trust the AROME the most, then Arpege.

Ha, fair enough. Not paid much attention to it really. I just look at the GFS and ECM. I see ICON mentioned a lot in the model thread but I figured it was just because it came out first.

What's this about snow? We still have our washing hanging out!!

East will be laughing at this area, just a dusting on the cars, E/NE, up to their knees

The radar is amusing/frustrating right now. Heaps of (admittedly light) snow coming in from the NE, then getting to Birmingham and completely giving up the ghost. It seems to have been doing that for ages. I can confirm it's bone dry here in North Worcestershire. (Temp -2.6 °C)

Yeah, sorry about that. My doing. My chap is driving home from Manchester to Telford, setting off about nowish, so I arranged with the Clerk of the Weather for the A56/556/M6 route to stay clear til he's home...

It should start getting westwards again after midnight :D

The gap is getting smaller between the front and the showers on the Lincoln coast. Wonder if they can merge later.

Latest GFS keeps many of us in the -5c uppers for Fridays snow event.

every GFS run for Friday has been a downgrade, 18Z is the worst yet, Matt, yes we'll be lucky to see 1cm

The snow event that will be all snow and now with a much higher chance of not melting away by Saturday.

Front gets to us but would be weakening. We'd stay colder for longer but, with negligible snow cover, I don't see the point of wishing for that. Unless you're in the south or east of the region where there would be a lot more snow.

The one that the GFS says doesn't even exist.

Might just be me but I would much rather have an ok snow event that continues the cold than a big snow event that is gone the next day.
